Peer support groups are weekly meetings of up to 10 men. The 10 men meet for 2 hours to share their experience of sexual abuse. The groups are facilitated by an IPS trained peer support worker.

How do I join a group ?

You can join a male sexual abuse support group by talking to one our of qualified peer support workers. They will help you decide what path forward is best for you: this may be receiving individual peer support or joining a group.

Where are the groups located ?

We host peer support groups throughout Auckland. Groups are hosted on different days and you can attend more than one group. Each group has a maximum membership of 10 and a meeting lasts about 2 hours.

What is the meeting like ?

All the meetings have the same format that gives everyone an opportunity to share. This sharing is not an open discussion, each man shares individually. This sharing is an opportunity for each man to share what is important to them.

There is a 24 topic programme that guides the group meetings.
