Better Blokes offers a five day peer support training course that gives all participants useful practical skills for both their own life and those they engage with in peer support. It covers Tikanga Maori, the Treaty of Waitangi and New Zealand law that is applicable to peer support.

This inhouse course serves as a component of training peer support workers alongside our peer support system that creates a safe environment for the vulnerable people we serve. The key goal is to empower individuals and is open to all. The programme has been successful with people from all cultures, spiritual systems, age groups, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

successful with people from all cultures, spiritual systems, age groups, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

We offer peer support groups across Auckland that cover all areas of the city. The programme can be easily scaled up to train, support and supervise more peer support workers as needs require. It is especially useful for more isolated communities as the skills are very teachable and transferrable. We are continually striving to make the system accessible and safe for all communities, age groups, cultures, genders, spiritual systems and sexual orientations.

Training is delivered by own Better Blokes team of managers and facilitators.
