Joint Venture Budget 2020 Family Violence and Sexual Violence

Community organisations working at the frontline of family violence and sexual violence responses form the foundations of an effective, integrated system capable of preventing and eliminating these forms of violence.

Budget 2020 invests in the foundations of our system. It continues our work to ensure frontline organisations are stable and have the capability and capacity to work with families and whānau to achieve safety and wellbeing.
These organisations are currently adapting to the unique and challenging demands of operating in the COVID-19 environment, making it even more important that government works in partnership with them to ensure appropriate resourcing.

Budget 2020 invests in family violence and sexual violence services that will deliver services for victims to achieve safety, and for people who have used violence to change their behaviour. They include funding for a cross-government initiative to enable specialist responses to non-fatal strangulation
