24/7 Anxiety NZ Helpline

Anxiety NZ Helpline gives vital support to hundreds of people each month who experience all forms of anxiety, including Panic Attacks, Phobias and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.

What Do They Provide?

  • We will listen and support you with empathy and unconditioned acceptance.
  • We can take you through breathing and relaxation exercises that are really effective in minimising feelings of anxiety and panic.
  • We can discuss practical strategies you can learn and apply whenever anxiety and panic starts to feel overwhelming.
  • We will offer encouragement, education, and advice for anyone who is supporting someone struggling with anxiety.

Who Will I Be Talking To?

Our Helpline is staffed by specially trained and understanding volunteers.
If you are experiencing anxiety or panic and don’t know what to do, our Helpline staff are well
equipped to walk and talk you through the experience.

Who Can Ring the Helpline?

  • Anyone who is experiencing ongoing stress, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Phobias, and associated issues.
  • Concerned family members, loved ones, and supporters of anyone in an anxiety related crisis.

Aoake te Rā – Bereaved by Suicide Service

…individuals and whānau needing specific support for bereavement…

Providing support and manaaki to individuals, whānau and communities who have lost someone to suicide.
Aoake te Rā assists the bereaved to adapt to their loss by suicide.

Offering a service of focused support following bereavement by suicide.

The service is:
  • free
  • available to all ages and at any stage after bereavement
  • a brief service with approximately four hours support per person (eg four 60 minute sessions)
  • available for individuals, couple or whānau groups
  • choice of face to face, online and phone services
  • one of a range of services that support people bereaved by suicide (see diagrame)
  • aim to be a culturally responsive, safe and effective service
  • they work with identified local Providers (eg counsellors, psychologists and other health professionals). They are trained in suicide bereavement.

How will the Service meet the needs of different population groups?

  • The design and delivery of the service included input from a range of different stakeholder groups. Continued engagement will occur with these groups at a national level
  • Local hui to discuss input from various populations will occur in each region
  • Online Providers will increase your options to choose a provide that meets your needs.
