AUT Centre for Person Centred Research is setting up a peer support service in Gisborne (and Auckland) to explore if peer mentoring is helpful for people as they recover from a head injury.

AUT is looking for people who have experienced a moderate or severe head injury to take part in the research study, and for people to become paid mentors.
The research project
When people come home following rehabilitation after head injuries, they sometimes find it hard to make sense of their recovery and struggle to take part in activities.
People can find talking to someone who has had a similar experience can be helpful.
