A court report stated Chamier was “ignorant” and she didn’t understand the effect of her offending or why the law prohibited children under 16 from having sex with adults.

Judge Gerard Lynch said the law was there to protect children from themselves as they weren’t experienced enough to make informed and safe decisions.

Despite the boy being six weeks shy of his 16th birthday, the judge said Chamier’s offending was premeditated and she had groomed the boy to have sex.

“While the victim was a willing participant, the law is there for a reason. You really appear not to get that this is criminal offending.”

The victim’s family chose not to comment, saying they “just want to put it behind” them.

Chamier has one previous conviction and the judge did not put her on the child sex offender’s register.
