Most of the alleged offending happened in the Waikato area in the 1990s, police said.
“There are at least 10 victims known to police,” Detective Senior Sergeant Brent Matuku said.
“They include male and female victims, some of whom were family members.
“The victims we know of are relieved that this male is being held to account for his actions, which have had a devastating effect on many of them”.
Police, Victim Support and Child Youth and Family are continuing to work closely with the victims and their families.
The man is due to appear in the New Plymouth District Court on October 7.
