ISIS leader critically wounded

US war planes have reportedly targeted an air strike on a gathering of key Islamic State militants, critically wounding their leader and killing more than a dozen people.

Senior IS officers were meeting at a house in al-Qaim, a town on the Iraq-Syria border when bombs were dropped, according to reports.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the group’s commander, is believed to have been hurt in the airstrikes while the leader of IS in Anbar province, along with his deputy, were killed, according to local officials.
