An MP’s public support for curing Ebola with homeopathy is “really, really sad” says a microbiologist.
Green MP Steffan Browning controversially signed a petition calling on the World Health Organisation to look at homeopathy remedies to cure Ebola.
Speaking to media yesterday, Mr Browning says signing his name to the petition wasn’t a wise thing to do and he didn’t intend for it to go public on his Facebook page.
“I signed it because I’m not opposed to homeopathy,” he says.
Microbiologist Susie (sic) Wiles told TV One’s Breakfast it is disappointing people with little knowledge of Ebola think they can comment on how to cure the disease.
“It’s really, really sad,” she says.
“It just shows a complete lack of understanding of anything scientific or medical.”
