The Mental Health Foundation is proud to announce the release of its new resource –Tihei Mauri Ora – Supporting whānau through suicidal distress.

Written with extensive consultation with Māori suicide prevention experts, whānau, and communities, this resource will help whānau and friends to support someone who is in distress or crisis.

“Māori are disproportionately affected by suicide,” says Witi Ashby, Maori Development Manager for Suicide Prevention Information. “We need to help whānau to have difficult conversations and help loved ones in distress, so they are empowered to prevent suicide in our communities.”
